I started training with Doug during my sophomore year of high school. He is a great coach, friend, and mentor. Doug helped me increase my level of talent, technique, and confidence. He helped me reach my goal of becoming a starting Division 1 kicker. Doug is always encouraging and comes to sessions ready to get to work with a positive attitude and a smile. The technique we worked together on during our sessions had me college-ready! My college coaches were impressed with how far ahead of the game I was coming in. I continue to train with Doug when I am home and always look forward to catching up, talk about life, get advice, and fine-tune my technique. He is the best!

My name is Joesiah McCann, an upcoming high school senior at Buchtel in Akron, Ohio. Working with Coach Chavis was amazing. He is serious about what he does and holds you to your words. If you have a goal he will help you reach it with your hard work. He managed to get a lot of my habits gone in a short time period. He has a lot of information to give and even more if you ask. He never completely changes what you do, He “Tweaks” it. After working with him it raised my confidence with my kicking. All in all coach Chavis is a real cool guy. Very enthusiastic about what he does and will definitely make you laugh.
— Joesiah Mccann - Kicker (Buchtel High School)
I worked with Coach Chavis from my sophomore year till my senior year and it was nothing short of a great experience. I was pushed to be the best kicker I could be, both physically and mentally. He gave me endless drills and tips to help me get stronger and better my technique, along with setting up game-like scenarios to help me be mentally prepared for anything. He would always make it clear that he believed in my abilities and constantly reminded me how important my job on the field is, even if other people didn’t believe so. He was always willing to work with me, even if that meant driving over an hour to meet with me for only one session. Coach Chavis really cares about the players and families that he works with. He made it clear through my experiences with him that he wanted to see me succeed and would do anything he could to help me. Any player who is willing to put in the time and work will see success when working with Coach Chavis.

My name is Dylan West the upcoming freshman kicker at Howard University. This past week I’ve had the amazing pleasure of working closely with Coach Chavis. Furthermore, the hours of sessions in the past week have helped me to tweak so many things within my kicking form. Additionally, I will say that there’s no Coach that can match his ability to adapt to his athletes, and fine-tune their technique. Lastly, I will say that in my experiences with Coach Chavis he has been so very reliable in and outside the game of football. And finally what’s most important is that Coach Chavis is more than just a Coach but someone whose always in your corner with the best interest in your success.
— Dylan West - Kicker/Punter (Howard University)
After my freshman year of High School, I wanted to improve on my kicking skills, I had very little knowledge and confidence in my ability. I decided to do something. My mother and I researched coaches in our area, and that’s when we found Coach Doug. Coach Doug was a game-changer, a life-changer, and an extremely important part of my football career. He taught me so much and gave me the confidence and the determination to push through ups and downs, to keep going even when experiencing failures. He was extremely flexible when it came to practices and gave loads of help outside of practice, like direct communication via call or text, gave video reviews on my technique and form via film, and even came out to support me during my games, which is above and beyond what I ever imagined and I’m super grateful for those gestures. Doug was not only a coach but a friend as well. Practice wasn’t always gritty and hardcore, there were fun moments as well, jokes were cracked, many times I couldn’t help myself from almost choking from laughter. Living 2 hours away didn’t stop me from meeting because I looked forward to our sessions. I looked forward to the camps he invited me to, even when I may not have performed at my best, he never was hurtful or negative, always encouraging, and gave constructive criticism. All in all, Doug is a great coach, a great guy, and a great person to have in your life, you won’t be disappointed.

I have had the pleasure of working with Coach Chavis on my craft since I was a Sophomore in High School. He is very modest about this, but he trained me to get me to the point to earn a scholarship to Tulane. We have worked on endless drills to be the best possible punter I can be. He even helped me to analyze what I am doing wrong while I am punting the ball so that I can fix that mistake on the next rep. I 100% recommend training with Doug Chavis.

When I started training with Coach Chavis my sophomore year of high school, I had all sorts of formal training and camps to my name. I had all the foundations for success but could not fully execute what I felt like I had the potential of doing. Training with Coach Chavis allowed me to reach that next level. He has incredible knowledge of all aspects of the game and was able to share that with me quite easily. He not only prepared me to play on Fridays and Saturdays but was able to help me with the mental burden that comes with kicking as well. He helped me work through major injuries, fine-tune my technique and help me achieve my goal of playing in college. I do not doubt that training with Coach Chavis was a major reason why I was, am, and will be so successful.

What Parents Are Saying

“I just wanted to thank you for all your help and guidance with my son. As a parent, it is extremely difficult to navigate various camps and one on one training while trying to decide what is best. Throwing a bunch of time and money at something just for the sake of doing it has never been my style. I don’t know “punting” very well, but I know “people” and I know what feels right, and my son and I feel great about the entire experience. working with you. The inclusion of parents into everything you do was an amazingly welcome change. The organization of your training was another welcome change. My son is now a D1 punter and will have a shot at the NFL and we owe so much of his success to you.”

“As a freshman in high school, our son had the opportunity to be the placekicker for his team but received little instruction by his high school coaches on how to properly kick a football which left him feeling extremely frustrated and defeated. Thankfully, we found Coach Chavis. After just a few coaching sessions, our son’s level of confidence and skill dramatically improved. The ability to self-correct, kick with consistency, and accuracy thru repetition were just some of the tools that Coach Chavis taught our son. His knowledge of football and the way in which he communicates proper form and technique is not only super impressive but always resulted in a positive outcome.

We had the honor and privilege of working with Coach Chavis for 3 years. Thanks to Coach Chavis’s passion for football, unwavering support and encouragement our son was able to have an incredibly successful high school career as a varsity placekicker”

— Rick and Marci Clark (Parents - Austin Clark -Kicker)

“My son has been working with Coach Chavis for the past 4 years. Coach Chavis helped build his skills with punting, kickoffs, and field goals into arguably the best kicker to come out of his High School and my son continues to work with Coach Chavis in support of his college football career. While visiting several college camps, including competitions in Los Angeles and a Senior Challenge in Florida, I was pleased with the comments from the other coaches about my son’s accuracy and technique. He was praised as the “best pure ball kicker” at the camps and ranked high nationally as a result. Those praises are a direct representation of the coaching he received from Coach Chavis. As a parent, I appreciate Coach Chavis’ positive, encouraging coaching style, his knowledge of current techniques and trends, the long list of players that he has helped through High School and beyond, and his connections to College coaches and scouts. I highly recommend Coach Chavis’ program for any up-and-coming specialist as well as for continued mentoring of even the most seasoned players.”

— Dan Schreiner (Father - Zach Schreiner - Kicker at American River College)

“Thank you Coach Doug! You have shown our son Everett that working hard, having confidence, and being ready when your opportunity comes are the keys to success. Doug started working with Everett early in high school, they had an immediate connection which continues today. Doug’s technique training helped Everett to stand out at college camps and with coaches. His mentoring and advice helped Everett to decide on the best fit for himself at the next level, ultimately accepting an offer to kick in the PAC-12 at Oregon State. As parents we are so excited to watch our son reach his goals and potential, seeing him on the field doing what he loves has been an awesome experience. We highly recommend Doug to all kicker/punters with the passion to learn and compete!”
